I know our music isn't for everyone, so it's kinda what I expected from a predominantly metal zine. The compliments on our live show make it worth it, since that's what we like to be known for anyway.

Thanks for letting me know about the review. It's cool that you sent me a link to it. Most people don't let you know when they post reviews, especially ones like this that aren't practically positive about us, so I really appreciate the fact that you let me know about it. Anyway, take it easy...

Well, after reading your hate mail I find myself wondering just what the hell is wrong with people? Elektronika sent Score our CD last year and although Score is NOT a typical place electronic artists send their music, I personally like many of the other artists featured on Score and enjoy the website. (Most musicians tend to like just more than one kind of music.) We were actually surprised to see such a sweet review of our CD considering it was far from ROCK and/or metal. There are plenty of forums and ways to promote electronic music worldwide and one thing that many musicians in this business need to learn is "SOUR GRAPES get you no where." This business is full of rejection and criticism no matter how talented you are OR what genre of music you play. The lesson is to learn to take it like a man or a woman and to concentrate on being better and to take the time to really thank and cherish those who have been nice to you along the way. So "thank you" Score ladies for all you do and for taking the time to critique an electronic band from Seattle and saying such nice things. Don't let the hate emails get you down! ;)

I just read Score's Best/Worst of 2002 list and wanted to let you all know I'm positively thrilled and honored by your selection of "They Stand Straight Up
(When She Lays Down)" as the Silliest Song of 2002. Even though I'm not sure if you meant it as a compliment, it's still way better than winning a Grammy or a People's Golden Global Choice Award any day! Many thanks to you and all the other Sirens, and
best of luck in the new year!
Cheers,
Wayne (Mod-est Lads)
Just wanted to thank you for your review of our cd, Libeshmertzn...(Love Hurts). It was really fun and original... a lot of people have been just copying out of our liner notes! Anyway, thanks very much.... it makes me so happy to be a musician when someone I don't know listens to our music and writes something so thoughtful about it. Thanks Again!

I just wanted to say that I truly enjoyed reading your article "A
Musician's Question Answered" about being ready for a Manager in Score
Music Magazine on the internet. I think you did a beautiful job
explaining every angle, the good and the bad, about chosing the proper
management. It was easy to read and came across personable. You seem
to be very honest, something that is hard to find in this industry
today. I am one of those who will go down with the sinking ship. Thanks
and I look forward to reading your other material.

Thanks for reviewing the promo. It is good to see someone who still considers "local" bands

Hey guys, I just read about you getting a virus and being told you were offensive in your last newsletter and would like to say what a load of bollocks that is and that people like yourselves make the world a better, more honest and humane place and whoever thinks the opposite is a sad, self-oppressed prisoner of denial. WOW... Thank you Cristy... Your review is amazing, as if you know me personally! You really hit it right on as far as the content... I guess "letting people in" really worked... My goal in writing is to be able to identify and really stop people... Challenge people. And in a sense, let them feel like they know me.
I don't have to thank you in the sense that you did a favor by reviewing me so highly, but i WILL thank you for your time listening, learning and wearing my music, studying the content and letting it reach you the way it did, and then being thoughful enough to feature it... I can't say how much I appreciate that! (I didn't even pay you! :) ha ha I really want to meet you!

Thanks so much for including a review of Barely Pink on Score's website.
Very much appreciated! Someday, your travels will being you to Tampa at the same
time as a Barely Pink show and we can rock for ya in person. Take care and thanks again!
Mark Warren, Barely Pink
Hi. I hit your site because someone I sort of know has a review of their work
here. I was reading through them when I got to Buckcherry, and this next
quote really grabbed my attention: "If you haven't heard the '90s rock anthem, "Lit Up,"
then I seriously suggest you run (don't walk) to your nearest record store and pick up a
copy of this most excellent rock disc." I have a real problem with saying that this band
is responsible for a 90's anthem and is so excellent etc, when the song "Lit Up" their
break-thru (and so far only hit) song, is such a complete, total and absolutely shameless
steal. Not a note, or a phrase, the entire melody/verse/chorus structure!
The original song is called "Shock Me" written by Ace Frehley, and released
by KISS on the album Love Gun in 1977. If you aren't familiar with it, look
it up and listen to it, you'll see what I mean as easily as everyone else
who knows the original song. And, when "Lit Up" was played for Ace Frehley,
his lawyers called Buckcherry who settled rather quickly and quietly.
Not slamming you, your review, or even your taste in bands; it's just
annoying to see someone being praised so highly for someone else's work.
Loren
I would like to see interviews and ALOT of pictures of LA GUNS. THANKS!

Wow! I just checked out the interview: you did such a great job. Thank
you. I was also impressed with the graphic layout; obviously Score! is a
cut above the other online 'zines I've seen. I will definately drive as much traffic there
as I can, and I hope we can work again in the future. Oh yeah, one thing:
the movie, "Soul Survivors" has been pushed back to August, which could
potentially delay the release of the next db9d9 album because we don't see
any money until release. We'll have to see what happens with other potential
licenses in the meantime, and maybe concentrate on some live shows before
the release of the album. Anyway, thanks again for everything.
Keep in touch,

Hi Score! Magazine, this is Aaron from the band FURTHER

do features on SKID ROW and AT THE DRIVE IN!!!

I was just noseying round the web when I came across your great web 'zine!
As a printed 'zine editor myself, it's great to see others spreading the
word about cool music!! Good luck with Scorerocks!
Karen - Editor, Vagabond Hearts 'zine
Thanks for the review. It's very important to us. Hopefully, we'll bring our music to USA
sometime this year. The only problem I have with our "description" as a band is the "folk
influenced" part which really irritates me, and the band knows my thoughts on that score, as my
view of folk is the likes of Fred Wedlock, Steeleye Span etc..and our music, especially the
stuff currently being demoed in the studio is heavier, and faster-paced than anything that
either Stereophonics or SemiSonic have come out with recently!
Anyway, at first look your e-zine looks good, so keep up the extent of work you're currently
doing and really believe in what you're producing..after all..in music, if you don't believe,
don't bother.
Sincerely,
kev. Anastasia Lighting Engineer/DrumTech.
I checked out your ezine and I love it!!!!! I put it in my favorites to keep checking it out! Thanks for

"My husband has done quite a job and surprised me with putting his music online. He has had
an explosion of response ever since. He earned enough money off the Internet to buy equipment he
needed to play his music out live. He has had interviews about his short time success as seen
with the interview done by Gateway magazine. He has been asked to host a local TV show. He is
now setting dates for live performances. As a matter of fact, he will be doing a show on Monday,
January 29th, in Charleston, West Virginia at THE EMPTY GLASS that can be seen on the webcast
feature of their web site. This is interesting to me because the kids and I can sit here at
home and watch him on the computer. We can't wait. I am beginning to see a side of all this
music business that is new and interesting. I see why he likes it so much.
Please have a listen to his music and see if you can add his site's link to you list of unsigned
