![]() | DAX - EP | |
| Location | Austin, Texas | |
| Initial Impression | The first thing I noticed was DAX's long curly tresses and thought I might be in for some 80s metal. I was wrong. Damn first impressions anyway! | |
| Notable Lyric | "I will submit to every wish you can conceive." - "Submission" | |
| Factoid | Maybe I misunderstood, but I believe I was informed that DAX was the kid in the "We're Not Gonna Take it" video!?!? If not, hey, thank me for the great publicity stunt! | |
| Serve With | Shiney black pleather pants. | |
| Comments | The best description of Dax is industrial electronica with a rock attitude. While "Submission" is rife with a NIN influence the vocals are more modern rock (without the growly-screamy), "Lay My Head" has more of an electronic sound filled with industrial-distorted vocals. However, DAX's voice is actually pretty strong despite the musical style, which lends a slight disadvantage towards actually hearing what he's got to say. "Not Worth the Paper" displays more of a little sexy-funk than the other two tracks and has a great bassy groove and tough little guitar riff. This is one of those discs that you'll want to blare when you've got the inkling to be a little "bad". (Picture slinking across the room toward your lover as you slowly discard your clothing). I think I'll hang on to this one! | |
