![]() | G-Spot - Come Here, Go Away | |
| Location | NYC | |
| Initial Impression | Hmm... Nice packaging: the CD came in a black faux-take-out box, embedded in red confetti accompanied by a "menu," and - what do you know?! - two (probably now-stale) fortune cookies. | |
| Notable Lyric | "And I confess I am a mess/Oh I confess I am a wreck/I'm not so strong after all/Even the mighty fall, even the mighty fall/I guess the mighty fall harder." | |
| Factoid | G-Spot's been around for seven years, previously releasing a record entitled Experience the Pleasure in 2002. | |
| Serve With | The rock and the roll! | |
| Comments | G-Spot - led by the captivating Gail Silverman - bring the rock with their second album, Come Here, Go Away. Packed with 12 tracks, they cover a lot of terrain, including a couple heartfelt ballads ("Beautiful Face", the bittersweet "Hurts Like This"), one Middle Eastern-sounding exotic composition ("Hey Creator"), and a 13-plus-minute chant ("Triple Mantra Meditation"), amidst a horde of full-blown energetic punk-tinged rock 'n' roll numbers (the opener "Over You"; "Happy Denial"; the fun and raucous "Revolutionary" - a great song for the outcasts, a defiant number that features a cool little ska breakdown and lyrics like "Fuck them I'm gonna be a rock star/'Cause I've got the balls and the energy/My tits are real I got a fine booty, yeah yeah"; the chaotic "Believe in Us"; and "The Harley Song", among others...). | |
